What would
happen if our Freedom of Expression were put on trial? That’s what happens when Attorney Miss ABC challenges hip-hop.
Her husband has been killed in a hip-hop related accident, and she is fed up with the hype of violent, cursing, glorifying
bad choices put to a beat and broadcast to children. So she raises a civil suit against all of hip-hop. The defendants
of hip-hop, Attorneys Mary, Larry, and Jerry, have an interesting defense, including a fictional consequence to the recent
“fines for dancing” in New York clubs. Local dance extravaganza Street Noise, hip-hop expert Donnie Senna,
rapper Raidge, and playwright Elizabeth Keiser all participate in this investigative musical extravaganza.
Come
support students from local middle schools, the Met School, and artists from the Providence Black Repertory Company. Watch
for further performances on Bright Night 2006
